Purpose

At Calm Hippo, we strive to provide our readers with information that helps them live a healthier life. Our blog would not be possible without studies and publications from academia. So, it is our turn to give back. With this scholarship, we are extending a helping hand to one student pursuing a degree in any health or medical field.

Calm Hippo Criteria

In order to be eligible to apply, students must:

  • Be a resident of the United States
  • Be a graduating high school senior within the next year or a current University student
  • Plan to pursue a 4-year degree as a student at an accredited public or private college or university in the United States
  • Be majoring in a health related field
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Demonstrate academic merit

The award is $500. After the winner of the essay contest is decided, payment will be sent to the winning student on May 31st of 2020. The application deadline is April 14th, 2020. Please consult our policies for further information on tax responsibilities. This scholarship is for tuition, school fees, textbooks, and room and board/housing and meals at any accredited public or private college or university in the United States.

How To Apply

  1. If you apply for this scholarship it means that you have read and agree to the terms in our Scholarship Policies and Disclosures. Before applying please click on the link to review these.
  2. Send an email to calmhippoemail@gmail.com including your name, field of study, best phone number, and answer to the following question in the form of an essay:
    • “How do you manage stress in your life?”

Please put the essay in the body of your email. If your essay is an attached document then I will not open it.
